Embracing Labor Day: A Reminder to Prioritize Self-Care for Success and Well-being

Labor Day is a moment on the calendar to honor all the hard work and achievements of all those who have contributed to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of America. As I reflect on this desciption of what this day really mean, I am also reminded of the importance that the success journey must also include taking care of ourselves along the way.

"Strength, propserity, AND well-being." - U.S Department of Labor, History of Labor Day

We often pour our hearts and souls into our labor, striving to reach our goals and achieve greatness. Yet, in the pursuit of success, we must not forget that without our health and well-being, true enjoyment of our accomplishments becomes elusive.

This Labor Day, I encourage you to embrace the importance of self-care and wellness to enhance both your success and your joy in life.

1. Acknowledge and Celebrate Your's and Your Company's Success.

As successful professionals, we have undoubtedly experienced the joy of accomplishments and the pride that comes with overcoming challenges. Take a moment to pat yourself and your team on the back. You deserve it!

2. Success and the Price of Sacrifice:

In our relentless pursuit of success, we may unconsciously sacrifice our well-being, neglecting self-care as we immerse ourselves in work.

The truth is, our health is the foundation upon which our success stands.

Without it, all that we achieve loses its luster, as we may find ourselves too exhausted or overwhelmed to enjoy the rewards of our labor.

3. Prioritizing Self-Care:

This Labor Day, let's make a conscious decision to prioritize self-care and well-being. Just as we dedicate time and effort to our careers, we must invest in ourselves, nurturing our physical, mental, and emotional health.

Self-care is not a luxury; it is a necessity for sustained success and fulfillment.

4. Seeking Support:

Sometimes we all need accountability and guidance to stay on track with our health goals. It's okay to seek support in helping you to balance the stress of work with the daily practice of well-being. Did you know that Dr. Lexi has an 8 week Course just for professionals like you who are ready to re-commit to their health along their success journey? Also, it's important to surround yourself with a supportive network that understands the demands of success and the importance of self-care.

In the meantime, enjoy this time off and really take the opportunity to rest because come Tuesday morning, you're all back to it.

Celebrate all that we have accomplished as humans and acknowledge all those on your team that have helped you get to where you are today. When you get back, be sure you are scheduling time for your health priorities such as exercise and meditation/prayer.

Happy Labor Day!

Dr. Lexi
